SUBWAY, Little Caesar’s, TCBY, Great American Cookie open at Columbia Mall

GRAND FORKS, N.D., Dec. 12 --- For the first time in the history of Columbia Mall, holiday shoppers can enjoy a healthy sandwich or a slice of pizza, frozen treats and chocolate chip cookies at the new Dakota Café food court.

SUBWAY®, Crazy Bread by Little Caesar Pizza, TCBY and Great American Cookie have opened just in time for the holiday season. Magic Chopstix, offering Asian specialties, opened November 3.

“We’re pleased that these premier food retailers are part of the new food court, and that our guests now have dining options within the mall,” said Garo Kholamian, president of GK Development.

Shoppers can relax near the food court’s huge, open limestone fireplace, while catching shopping specials on a large plasma screen.

Other new amenities at the regional mall include a colorful, self-contained play area for children located in the west court near Amy’s Hallmark and Radio Shack. The soft foam play invites children to explore activity panels, 3 D animals, a tent and tunnels, while caregivers watch from a nearby soft seating area.

Shoppers can also access new, expanded restrooms boasting new fixtures, granite countertops and earth tone décor and a new family restroom. The facility includes two private bathrooms with child-size and adult toilets, a changing area with a sink and dispensers for baby items, a lounge with soft seating and an area for strollers.

The new restrooms are located near the mall office on the west side of the shopping center.

For the second year, GK Development has brought specialty merchandise, housed in newly designed carts and kiosks and operated by local entrepreneurs, to the mall for the holiday shopping season.
